There's other posts you can easily dig up on what a False Hydra is and ideas on its mechanics, but being fresh after running one myself I figured I'd offer to share my experience for anyone interested. I definitely put my own spin on it and modified things as the encounter went on to cater to my players and how they were investigating the situation, but it went well and smoothly and the false hydra arc was well received by my group.
I'll post a comment with the basic set up of my campaign and how I incorporated it, but feel free to skip that if it doesn't strike you as important to a more specific question you might have.
