Shit show on a first game
Post Body

I couple of years i joined my friends campaign. It was his first time DMing and he decided to go with a homebrew setting. The religion of his world was the norse panthon at the time of hearing it thought it was cool. But as we started playing there was alot of budding heads because he had his own personal veiws about the norse panthon. My character for his campaign was a goliath druid. The whole premise of my backstory was i was a former soldier part an elite usit that worked right beside the king. I ever found out about some evil deeds and went into hiding because my former squad mats were trying to kill me. My PC found a huge dead tree a began to rebuild it and as my PC did so the tree thanked him by teaching his the art of druid craft. Seemed perfect until it didn't. The dm hated that i came up with names and descriptions for my fellow squad mats that were hunting me in his words " your taking away my creative freedom" There was alot of arguing because i was trying to ask what do you mean and he wouldn't give me a straight answer. It was eventually resolved and he went with what i wrote I gave him the warning that my PC wouldn't leave his tree unless it was threatened and he was cool with that. We start to play the campaign and out of the bat it was a dester looking back. He brought in space traveling into the mix. My PC had there home threatened and had to travel to another world. (Note he never mentioned anything of the sorts about traveling to different worlds). In another session the party was in a situation where there was no winning. The 4 of us were lev 3 and he had us face a the god sun wu Kong. Just to have another NPC to save the day. We then begin to tell him we didn't like feeling useless. And we were confused because we were told it was just norse theamed gods. His response: well your on a different world with different gods. The next session we found out that someone wanted us to help kill thor. At this point no one knew what was going on and it became extremely annoying because evey time we said thor he would appear trying to kill us. All of our backstorys were ignored and My PC felt out of place. At this point i was just there and kept saying my PC just wants to go back to his tree. The worst part was hed try and do one on one session without giving a heads up. The first time he tryed doing it was when we were at work bussing tables The second was when we were on a 30min break from a different ttrpg that we were playing. I would shut him down and tell him im not in the mind set for my PC in your game and he never understand what i was saying He ended up scraping it and now i have a hard time playing another campaign so i just stick to DMing.
