Edit: Okay so basing off of most of the comments, yep...definitely got scammed.
Sooo I'm writing this just to see if anyone else has encountered this person before and I guess just to let everyone else know din.
Earlier this night I was heading home while walking just outside DLSU near the Velasco Gate when all of a sudden a middle-aged man of Asian descent - not saying too many specifics in the off chance that he's okay - approached me and told me he needed money to go home. He said that he had lost his bag along with all his things and needed to get back to his house since his passport was there and he desperately needed it. He told me that he's not from around here and is just working as a seaman and that he'd been walking around for three hours already.
Now hearing all of that I am very much aware that there's a big chance he was lying and just wanted to take my money from me, but I figured that on the off chance that he was telling the truth, I might as well just give it to him. Besides, I'm in a very fortunate enough position where losing 500 pesos from my allowance -- although pretty bad -- is still not that big of a deal for me. I can survive. So yeah, I gave him the money, a little more for the jeep, and after that, he left.
Didn't think much of it when I got home but I figured that if he really is a scammer, I should probably let everyone here know about it.
