Why is the Django Admin “Ugly”?

There's a difference between "ugly" and "dated."
I'd go as far as saying Djangoadmin UI is beautiful.

I've used Django for a long time.
Since v1.1 in fact (2009, all the way back in college).
The Djangoadmin UI has never changed.
So really, we're talking about a mid-2000s UI.
I'd cut it some slack.
