I've got plenty of experience soldering / wiring / woodworking, but I've never worked with tubes before. I need to create a Pre-Amp for a setup I've got. It's pretty low-end now, but I'd like to go as far as I can with anything I build.
I'm pretty inspired by something I saw today: https://wtfamps.wordpress.com/sofrito-preamplifier/
I can follow the wiring and build documentation, but tubes scare the s*** out of me -- high voltage is no joke. Is it too much for a first-time tube project? Is this a good build for a long-term use?

EDIT:
I'm in the EU with 220V. Unsure if this affects things, but worth noting.
