Let’s say I wanted to add a circuit overload LED to this MXR micro amp. Ive built about a dozen pedals and along the way I’ve gotten interested in circuit design and tinkering/modding some of my old pedals I don’t mind using as guinea pigs. I chose the micro amp circuit because it’s simple and I have two of them (diy builds, not originals) so I don’t mind using one of them for some trial and error. Would that circuit even work for such a mod? This is more for experimentation/curiosity rather than actually having a micro amp with an LED that blips when I push it hard but who knows, if it works maybe I’ll keep it that way.
I’ve studied a few examples of circuits which use an overload indicator (vintage memory man deluxe and boss ce-1) but they seem to confuse me more due to the complexity of their circuits. What I have learned is it seems there needs to be a transistor connected to the output of the ic and the LED and its resistor but otherwise I’m not sure.
Any tips/help/schematic drawings much appreciated. Thanks!
