Variation in gaps between decking boards

I’ve been laying 140x32 radiata decking boards that I had stored under cover for a month and after manipulating them to line up as best as possible before screwing them down (quick clamps / ratchet strap when needed) there’s maybe 2mm variation in the gaps between boards in places so it changes from maybe 2mm gaps to 4mm gaps in some areas. Is that normal or is my technique probably a bit off with how I’m manipulating them before screwing then down?
