Am I legally allowed to replace a switchboard/fusebox in the garage, or does that legally require a sparky?

Post Body

The switchboard in the garage was damaged.

It's a relatively simple switch board, 1 main switch, 1 power circuit, 1 light circuit. I can get a replacement for under $100.

I'm definitely confident in my ability to do the job, I've worked as an appliance service tech, with appropriate 230V qualifications.

I've tried to look up what the NZ law is on the matter. All I can find is various websites saying I can't do work inside the main switchboard, which is fair enough.

But this isn't the main, it's a small sub-board.

‘As long as it’s inspected’ good luck finding an imspector that would cost less than just hiring a sparky.
