2 humbucker, 1 vol, 1 tone, and balance pot

Hey everyone, i want to rewire my epiphone les paul standard. I want a master volume, a master tone and a balance pot to blend between the pick ups instead of the 3 way switch. I asked myself if this would work for this setup if I used 500k pots instead of 250k pots. I hope someone can help me :)
