Voltage Regulator lm317 circuit to take 12V DC down to 6V.

As title says this uses a voltage regulator LM317 to bring 12V down to 6V worked fine on breadboard but when put on PCB and soldered it is not working out put .741 to output cap starting from left to right components are 0.1 uF cap for input , volt reg., 1k ohm resistor, 500 ohm var. resistor, 1uF cap for output. I do not kno what’s going on T this point or why won’t work…any help is very much appreciated!
