My boyfriend and I are starting to do research on our Thailand trip. He seems pretty focused on Phuket. However, I prefer to be in locations that are less crowded. It makes me upset to see garbage and I get angry when I see people being disrespectful to the environment and the people around them, and the more tourists there are, the more likely you are to be around those types of people. There is so much information out there that I don't know how to sift through it.
We have two weeks, which includes our flight time and getting to and from the flight. I'd like to stay a full 24 hours or more in bangkok and maybe see Ayutthaya Ruins, or some similar ruins that are less crowded and easy to get to maybe. And then we would like to do a liveabord diving tour.
We just got certified in Belize this last February, so we have only been on four dives total. We are in pretty decent shape, but pretty average for 26-year-olds. I was reading about the Similian Islands and to me it seems like that would be a perfect fit for me. But I read that they prefer you to have more diving experience for that area because the currents can be pretty strong.
I was just wondering if there were some diving sites that are imperative that we don't miss, and if there is a company that we should definitely go with and companies that look legitimate that we should avoid. We really liked the service we got with Belize Diving Services, so a company similar to that in Thailand would be great.
Sorry if this is jumbled, thanks for reading and for any advice given!
