Hi, I thought I’d come here as I seem to get the best sensible advice.
As I’m starting to sort myself out more financially following COVID and sickness, I wanted to learn about options. I’ve read stuff on investopedia and understand the general concept of buying calls, which I’d rather do. I’ve no interest in shorts and puts.
I understand the general premise of ITM/OTM and how the contracts are bundles of options to buy and you pay a premium which may be lost etc.
I was a.) looking for further reading to understand the concept and b.) where if anywhere do you find research on what companies to buy options on? Orrrr is it very much general DD and rolling the dice on if they’re ITM
Caveat, I’m looking to buy small amounts of contracts to build positions in key dividend companies to help grow my portfolio. That’s my theory/plan anyway.
Happy to here alternative ideas/advice/strategies
TIA
