I had never thought I would almost become a victim of this podcast...

To preface this, I work night shift on the weekends and have a 2 year old I watch throughout the week. Swapping between days and nights is killer, but I have coffee to help me cope at work (I often down half of a 12-cup carafe a night). Unfortunately this tends to give me bad coffee breath, so I keep some gum in my lunchbox to help freshen up and stress chew if it is a rough night.

I had just put a stick of gum in 30 minutes before my shift ended so it still had a bit of flavor by the time I am getting into my car to head home. I have been trying to get caught up on the podcast and was in the middle of "You'll Never Believe What Happened" when I got to work so I picked up where I left off.

About midway through my drive I get off the interstate and onto the main street through town when the episode gets to the point where Jesus was asked what kind of car it was that was damaged in the pursuit of Mark's next high. As soon as he said "Audi" I busted into a light laugh, and as I inhaled my gum got vacuum sucked right into the bend of my throat, perfectly lodging itself. Luckily I was at a red light, so my brain had some time to buffer and think on what exactly to do. I considered trying to cough or hack it up but it felt like it was just a little too far down to successfully do without potentially throwing up on myself while driving in the dark (thanks time change!). So I opted for my second decision to forcefully swallow my pride and the gum.

Despite almost an hour passing since the "incident" it still feels like something is lodged in my throat, but I am alive and Mark, Wade, and Bob will just have to settle for the next potential victim/sacrifice.
