What do you do to improve yourself?

There comes a time where everyone feels like they "plateau'd" in terms of their current skill or improvement. My question is, how do you guys deal with that? This game doesn't really have a non-ranked que, and just beating my head against ranked doesn't seem like an enviroment that fosters improvement.
Just do gauntlets? Look for custom games?
