Questions about intentionally tanking your score before you level up—when, why, and how?

Post Body

I looked through recent posts and I see references but no details, because I think most everyone knows already but me? I missed the boat!

How much does ‘nerfing’ your scores at the end of each level help? How many games and how much do you have to tank?

Right now I am at level 20 with 12/20 things done until the next level. I have mostly level 1 emojis with a few level 2. I basically just play every game my best and try to do well but I’ve seen people talking about throwing some games at the last few objectives—is that a thing? And how much do you have to tank? I normally score 300-600k, high score at like 1.8m.

I’d really appreciate help or links to past threads or anything!
