How much localisation have the US versions been subject to?

I'm considering getting the humble bundle that's been linked elsewhere so I can reread the series, but I read the British versions first and I'm worried the US versions would be too Americanised. How much have they changed? Is it just spellings or have vocabulary and idioms been changed too?
