Is Discord supposed to cut out line-in instruments?
Post Body

I would like to share musical ideas with people through discord. Instead of having to send audio files back and forth, the process could be much simplified if I could simply play my guitar in a voice-call in real-time.

I have a Lexicon Lambda audio interface. An SM57 is connected to one mic-input, and I have my guitar connected to the instrument input via jack cable. When testing my mic in Windows, and in all other instances in general, this setup works perfectly fine. Hell, I've literally recorded music professionally with this exact same setup.

The problem is, it doesn't work through Discord specifically. For some reason, Discord wants to cut the guitar out even though I've turned off all noise suppression, echo cancellation, etc..

Instead, the guitar will phase in and out, in a pattern that almost sounds like a sine-wave. Upon further investigation, it seems as if it is Discord trying to mute the guitar entirely, as it thinks the guitar is accidental noise. My voice is coming through via the same interface just fine, and like I said, no other software that I'm aware of has a problem processing the guitar either.

TL;DR: Discord seems to want to mute my guitar in particular. I would rather it didn't. Is it possible?
