This is gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I think it would be a win-win.
Post Body

Discogs should be absorbed by Amazon or Ebay, or some other larger tech company.

UI issues, fraudulent listings, sheer fuckery that reflects constant security and consistency issues that simply wouldn’t happen if it were under the umbrella of one of the aforementioned companies.

And it would be a win for the consumer, because so many newly converted vinyl heads are buying digital 180g pressings or picture discs off of Amazon which have shit sound quality, so their introduction to vinyl isn’t as exceptional as it could be. Integration with Discogs would allow people to seamlessly buy first pressings with the convenience that they purchase elsewhere.

I’m not saying this is a great solution, certainly not the only solution. But for the first time in years I haven’t checked my wantlist, or put any items back up for sale because Discogs’s decline is so steep. Ownership, management, and whoever the fuck they have employed up until now is fumbling the ball from top to bottom and they need a complete overhaul from top to bottom.
