TL;DR are there benefits of being on disability besides just getting money every month and are they worth going through the runaround? Personal stories appreciated.
Long story short my main support person with complicated stuff like this is my mom and she will be living away from me and very busy for a few months to sort out her father's estate. I've been rejected twice and I think we missed the window to appeal again.
I can work a limited number of hours and can pay my bills on the small amount I make. I don't live luxuriously only working 15 hours a week but I've got food and rent gets paid. My mom and therapist have said there are other benefits to being on disability besides money. Plus when I turn 26 and I am off my moms insurance, I'll be fucked bc I don't make enough to have insurance and I need it for my meds.
Not sure if its just me being frustrated or if it's not really worth the hassle. I do worry that it's gonna turn out that I can't actually support myself or I'll lose the one job I can do without completely crashing. I only moved out from my moms 3 months ago and anything can happen.
Sorry if that's all too rambley. I'm worried about what's gonna happen when my mom moves away and her support is gone
