Okay so this is my third time applying for SSI. Not my third appeal. But my third time actually applying from the beginning, me appealing as much as I could, and the SSA closing my case.
This time, I felt like I was better off. I had a few more diagnoses under my belt, more medical records, and a lawyer from one of the biggest law firms in my city.
So I applied, got denied twice, appealed twice, and at some point, the above lawyer agreed to take my case. She has literally done all the work for me, and I have done nothing. Then we had a court date. The judge denied that, too. My lawyer told me that she is now thinking about taking this to the United States District Court. I have a phone meeting with her on the 18th, at which point I'll know more.
I know it's not a bad thing that my judge is considering doing this for me. But it's frustrating that it's dragging on for this long.
Have any of you ever had to have your case end up in the USDC? Or do any of you know anything about that kind of scenario? I want to be as prepared as possible for all of this. Of course I'm going to take the advice of my lawyer, but i wouldn't mind hearing any input from others as well.
Thanks!
