But actually. I'm a London-based American making his first voyage to Amsterdam this coming week (yes I'm taking the train—why does everyone keep asking?) and would happily accept suggestions for coffee shops, live music, street food, and bars with fun games. Of course, the best recommendations are those made in person...

Quick intro: I'm extremely easy-going while still energetic, and eminently curious about most things/people. Superficially, I'm 5'11" and in good shape, with a full head of hair and eyelashes that you'll surely hate me for. Here's a holiday-themed verification. By day, I work for a startup that I am convinced will change the world; by night, I'm likely playing sports, at the pub with friends, or volunteering. My biggest strength (and flaw) is my baseless optimism that things will turn out well. Exhibit A, this post.

What I'm looking for: I'll be spending a full week in Amsterdam, and am determined to get the most authentic experience possible. In my opinion, that has very little to do with specific food or bars—it's the people. Aka, you. Whether you just want to grab coffee and trick me into taking an edible, or are looking for a kinky NSA week-long fling, say hi. However...while I'm not picky on arrangement, I am picky on vibe: I'm at my best when I'm surrounded by upbeat, confident, grounded people who don't take themselves too seriously. In my experience, reddit is a surprisingly good place to find that :)
