I can't believe I'm back to doing this. I thought I gave up this life years back, but here I am. Sat alone in a dingy basement-level apartment with just the orange hue of the streetlight above lighting up the grotty room as I sit on the bed. Apprehensive, nervous and cold, I stare at the floor rather than the door.

I'm playing the character of a 30-year-old woman who has had very much an up-and-down life. She's never been particularly well-off, whenever she's been doing what she'd consider to be "just fine", she was just treading water. And when it came to men, she had even worse luck: cheats, liars and users. But none of this has defeated her. She's known for many for her warmth, kindness, wicked sense of humour and indefatiguability. She's fiercely loyal to her friends and family. Even when she humiliates herself in public -- usually by going for unobtainable men and being exposed for it -- she pulls herself up. Nobody really has a bad word to say about her.

But times are had. Bills keep piling up. Her constant need to offer help and support to others makes her forget her own needs, and now she's in over her head in debt to someone you don't want to be indebted to.

So now I'm here. When he made me that offer, getting back into this 'line of work', I slapped him and threw him out of my flat. It didn't faze him, of course. He knew that I'd phone him that evening, ask to meet, tell him I was in. That I'd do it if all my debts were gone and I could start again.

Your character

You've just reached your 50s. There isn't really that much to say about you, and that's being polite. You could be a genius worthy of a Noble Prize, you'd still wind up being completely irrelevant. A background figure who wouldn't stand out wearing pink at a wedding. No wife, no kids, a 9/5 at a warehouse. But you're not a bad person. You're just... intensely boring. The last time you asked a girl out on a date she almost burst out in laughter before subtly apologising and saying no. Irony of ironies, that was the same girl as our girl tonight.

No wonder you're relying on a service like this. Of course, you were cautious. You had no idea what to expect. You were extremely coy when asking around for the right names and numbers to secure this sort of service, of course using an alias and insisting that you pay in cash up front.

The prompt/what I am looking for

I don't want to write out the prompt in this post tonight. I prefer longer-term, collaborative roleplays where we both throw in our ideas and bounce off each other to create the perfect story. But the point is: my character has gone back to being an escort after years off the game; your character asks her out on a date before but gets rejected; he is her first customer.
