Heya!
Thanks for clicking my post.
I'm a 28 year old dude from Florida looking for a bestie, Possibly more in the future, but primarily looking for friendship currently as I'm married but not super fulfilled.
I'm 6 foot tall and nerdy. I love videogames (PC), LEGO, TCG and I'm going to start going to the gym soon. I like to ride my bicycle for exercise and overall I'm just a pretty friendly and great dude. I definitely have my personal struggles but I always try to be nice to everyone and make people laugh and I think I'm a good person overall.
I want to meet someone who's trying to either grow as a person, or feels pretty happy with the growth they've had and can give me advice. Long story short - as I don't want to trauma dump on a bunch of innocent redditors - I grew up in absolutely horrible conditions and it stunted my growth as a person really bad. I never really started "growing" as an individual until I escaped that situation at 19. I'm totally okay with telling you more about this if you'd like, but I don't want to just share all the details on a public forum.
Primarily I was socially isolated, I was kept away from the world completely by a mentally ill parent until I escaped at 19. And now at 29 I realize how important it is to have healthy relationships in your life. And that's what I'm looking for here. I really want to meet someone who's on the same wave-length and really get to know, so we can be a static presence in eachother's lives.
I'm a very emotionally intelligent and empathetic person. But I'm also a super goofy person too. I can make crass jokes with you one second and be able to switch to talking to you about something deep and serious in the next. I have a passion for helping others and plan to become a therapist so I can help other people who are going through a lot.
I hope that you reply so we can talk more! I had a really strong feeling from the universe that I should post on here today.
