You weren’t certain about heading to the club tonight, but you decided to go, if only because the event would be fun. It was Karaoke night, and even if nothing else, it would be fun to watch drunk people struggling their way through the songs. And the first few people up were just that. Some did better than others, but everyone was a bit out of key, at least for some of it.

I was the first person to step up who really broke that mold, and I had only just started the song when the club as a whole went a bit quiet. It was a love song, and at first, my eyes just scanned over the crowd, singing for myself and no one else. But then, they landed on you, and they stayed there. My singing didn’t change, but to you, it felt like my song was now for you, and it was over far too soon.

I received more applause than the other acts as I stepped away from the mic, and my eyes returned to you for a bit, before I walked over to take a seat at the bar.

Will you come over and join me at the bar? Or perhaps you find that too forward and simply offer to buy me a drink? Or perhaps I’m the one who buys you a drink?

I’m hoping for something with a lot of flirting and build-up, and maybe a longer form thing than just the single night the prompt takes place over, although I’m also perfectly fine with this being the single night.
