I'd been planning this trip for months. Well, that's not entirely true. I'd been planning it for years, but in the last few months, I'd finally reached a place where it was fiscally possible. Eight days of running around Greece to all of the places mentioned in my favorite myths. Or at least the ones that we know where they are and were on the mainland.
Things, however, weren't going exactly to plan. My flight had nearly gotten to the Athens airport, when a storm hit us out of nowhere. At first, it was just turbulence and strangely colored clouds. After the plane started dropping meters at a time, I started to white-knuckle the arm rests.
When lightning hit the engine next to my seat, the wall of the fuselage was suddenly gone. I remember trying to scream, but just as I was sucked out through the hole, the air in my lungs seemed to get sucked out without any warning.
I'm not sure how long I was unconscious for, but I woke up half submerged in water. The inside of my mouth was lightly coated in sand, and I could taste the salt from the sea. My clothes were in tatters and everything hurt, which I guess meant that I was still alive.

I think there are a few ways this can play out, from washing up on Aeaea or Ogygia to taking the place of one of the classic heroes or finding that one of them is genderbent and traveling along side them.
