Our house got an early start every day. It was the kids more than anything else - babies needed feeding, and the toddlers wanted to be up and moving around long before the adults would have chosen to be out of bed on their own.
The house was a big one - we'd paid for it custom. Nothing in town was large enough for us to sleep all the people we needed to, and we still got some strange looks when we went out together. Even though it was legal and we didn't keep it a secret, some folks still objected to a family with multiple wives.
Our church held that a properly run family had too much love in it to share between one husband and wife. When they were content with one another it was their obligation to each other and the community to bring someone else in, depending on who they felt like they needed. Typically that was another woman, but there were families we went to church with who'd found a second husband when their time had come.
Our family had grown several times. John was our patriarch, a successful business owner and church leader who had just crossed over to the other side of 50. There were four women he was married to: his high school sweetheart Katie; Mary, who'd joined the marriage on their 10th anniversary; Alyssa, who had led a crazy party life before she came to church but had become the model mother; and Juliette, who was about to turn 19 and had decided to become a wife and mother rather than go to college.
Between the four wives there were already 7 kids, and everyone expected more before too long. Our home was filled with love and devotion every day. Sure, we weren't the typical American family, but where was the fun in that?
Hi! Today I'm looking for a partner to help me write a fun domestic story about a polygamist family! Their church and the law say it's OK to be married more than once as long as everyone is on board, and they're making it work!
I don't want this to be a story about any existing American religion, but I do want to set it in the USA. I'm open to playing any of these wives with a male partner, or sharing the girls with a woman! This is a big setting and I want to find the right person to play it out with, so let's just talk ideas and goals to start!
