December 7th, 2290.

I walked along an old highway interstate, traveling lightly. The blown-out buildings provided great camouflage, only making my paranoia worse. I only had my scoped hunting rifle, some stims, radaway, food, and approximately two hundred rounds of armor-piercing .308s. Its not like I was carrying the forbidden, lost loot of the Sierra Madre in my duffel bag.

The old combat armor i was wearing shown dust and scratches, glinting a steel hue in the red sun. The mask i wore over my mouth filtered the residual radiation. I know wastelanders usually remember where they get their oddities, their curios and relics. Oddly enough, I dont remember how I got these. Maybe from out West, in The Divide. Or maybe East, from The Commonwealth.

It was all quiet, thank God. But... there it was... a telltale tumbling of a rock, echoing all around me.

I immediately dropped to the ground, aiming my hunting rifle in the direction of the noise. Hoping to see something than nothing, that it was hopefully just a stray dog. I didn't want to serve up some hurt if I could avoid it.

Unfortunately, it wasn't...
