It was another autumn's afternoon of study. I was sat in my favourite corner of the study hall; quiet and cosy in a corner desk with a window overlooking the campus. Except I wasn't studying this time. I was waiting on something, you.

I saw you approach in the distance. You were dressed somewhat inconspicuously with a university hoodie and dark leggings. Yet even from afar your long beautiful hair waved in the autumn breeze, inviting my gaze like a matador entices a bull.

Your stroll was much more direct than last week when I caught you my mere happenstance. Last week you were searching for the right spot, this week you knew exactly where you were headed; the large oak tree not too distant from where I was seated.

Like last week you also had a furtive glance to make sure you weren't being watched before sliding your hand into the twisted knot in the tree. You scanned the grounds and several of the windows. Yet you couldn't check them all. I looked away just to be sure. When I looked back you were already on the fullest height of your toes and reaching into the hole in the tree.

My lips twisted into a laugh as you panicked that it wasn't there. You continue to fish on until you eventually find the USB device. Not yours of course. Not the Timebomb with all the incriminating evidence you'd made of yourself. It was my device. The one I'd replaced with yours.

Copies of all your pictures, videos, personal information were on this device as well as my original but I'd added a few secret items of my own. Some malignant softwares mostly. Nothing too life destroying but it would allow me more access to your laptop should you insert it in your computer.

So now all I had to do was wait. You skipped off looking happy in your relief that you weren't caught. I knew it would be a matter of time before you found out that wasn't quite true.
