Her father had intended this voyage to be the adventure of a lifetime for young Sarah. It had been a tough childhood after the death of her mother. So when her father, a skilled shipwright, had been contracted by the newly united Italian government to assemble their new fleet, he decided to bring young Sarah with him to show her the beauty of Italy's coastal cities. The pair set sail from the eastern coast of the United States destined for the Mediterranean.

Unlike her seafaring father, Sarah was no fan of ship travel and spent most of the journey ill and below deck. The following day after passing Gibraltar she'd woken in the middle of the night with a start. The ship was rocking violently. Even inexperienced Sarah knew something was wrong. She attempted to climb up onto the deck, but a surge of seawater knocked her down the wooden steps. She could hear the crew hollering, cursing and scurrying about above her. And then a tremor rocked the whole vessel. Something was terribly wrong. And then everything went dark...

Consciousness would come flooding back to the young American some time later, far removed from the watery turmoil she had last experienced. In stark contrast the first sensation she experienced was oppressive heat. She opened her eyes to see she was reclined in near total darkness. At first she feared she was in a coffin. But a constant and uneven shuddering of the container revealed two people must have been carrying it: one near her head and one at her feet. Male voices conversed with one another in a harsh, unknown language. She cried out for help. The only response was an angry slap of the container's lid. Sarah grew quiet.

She realized the dim illumination of the space was from a series of holes on the sides of the wooden box. No hole was wider than her finger, but it allowed the oven-like air to penetrate the space. In the dim light she explored. She found no way to open the container that held her. Frighteningly, all of her clothing also appeared to have been removed. But her movements also revealed several metal accessories ringing her body at her wrists, ankles. thighs and upper arms, as well as much thicker piece around her neck. In the darkness she couldn't feel any clasps or releases. Utterly horrified, the young American silently prayed for salvation in her dark box from whatever nightmare she was very literally being carried toward...

If you made it this far, thank you. After stumbling across a lovely inspiration picture this week, I've had a harem-based idea stuck in my head. This starter loosely lays out some of the things I'm looking for in a rather cliche historical scenario. Some of the key elements I'd like to discuss with interested dominant partners are:

• TL:DR - a pretty, young Western girl finds herself shipwrecked, captured and sold to a mid-level ruler in either North Africa or the Middle East. I envision this set in the late 1800's. Old enough so harems still exist, but modern enough where simplified bondage gear and sex devices can be used.
• Some raceplay/culture clash elements - exploring language barriers and other cultural barriers between the new harem girl and her owner, either having her be prized for those differences or reviled.
• Harem aesthetic - would love to incorporate the cliche gauzy harem attire as well as things like permanent cuffs, intimate piercings and brand/tattoos with ownership marks
• Sexual training - teaching the new girl exactly what her new master likes, including oral, anal, rough sex, as well as kinkier fare like bondage, humiliation, breathplay.
• Harem of one - this may work against most harem cliches, but I actually want this to be a harem of one, hence why I mentioned a mid-level ruler that either has lost his previous harem or can't afford multiple girls. Too many characters just waters down the individual characters.
