Her: You’ve done it! Finally! You’ve scored your first one-on-one interview with that rising basketball star. For a newbie in the company, it’s a pretty big deal! Too bad you’re not into basketball or sports all that much, but if you manage to write a good article, this might provide your career with enough rocket fuel to ride straight into any editorial department you want. So you hope.
There’s just one problem.
This up-and-coming megastar athlete wants you. To have dinner with you, that is. Why? Is he just eccentric? Or is he actually into you? Regardless, he’s accepted to have a tell-all interview with you on the condition that you go out to dinner with him. Well, what’s the worst that could happen?
Nothing! That’s what. It’s a win no matter how you look at it. Good food and a gigantic career boost! It also doesn’t hurt that this guy is reasonably handsome. Though you still can’t see what all the fuss about him is.
Him: You’ve done it. You made the major league. Rookie though you are, feels like the whole world is watching you. Soon you’ll be making millions, flying all over the world. MVP tomorrow, All-Star next year. Hey, things are looking pretty barometric right now.
Ugh, but waking up 3am for practice? The groupies? And some of the boys on the team openly joke about burying you. Good thing you don’t have a girlfriend or wife or they’d do worse.
You need a break. Something to take your mind off of things. An interview about the one thing stressing you out the most isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but there’s something about that reporter that catches your eye. In the first place, when she handed you her card, she didn’t seem all that interested.
That’s what piqued your interest. ‘This might seem fun.’ It’s the first time you’ve thought about that for anything outside of the game in a long while. This could be an opportunity. You’ve got a good feeling about this and not for nothing, cause, hey she accepted your ridiculous, out-the-ass request for dinner.
What I’m Looking For:
Hi! Thanks for reading this far. This is a scene for a relatively short role play. An unexpected ‘One Night Stand’ kind of deal that implies a dubious future relationship between the characters. I would love to have someone who likes snarky back and forth’s, stealth insults and flirting to write with.
Aaaand that’s really it. Well, that and being able to write a paragraph or more. Whether you prefer to write in 1st person or 3rd, I’ll leave up to you. I’ve got more practice in the latter, but I can pull of the former. If you’re interested, send me a message.
