My dad had always said that he was running for President "to steer the conversation". He swore that after two terms as the consensus-building, moderate governor of North Carolina he wanted six months on the national stage to make a few points and then he'd retire and come home for good. It had seemed like an impossible task - he wasn't a liberal, but Republicans hated him. There didn't seem to be space for him in the national conversation.

Then he won the Iowa Caucus. Then New Hampshire. Then the nomination, and then a squeaker of a general election. And so, on January 20 our family moved into the White House. Daddy had bigger things to do.

I'd become a sort of an object of fascination on the trail. I was quiet and unassuming, but pretty. There had been blog posts and Buzzfeed articles - Who is the Real Annie Grace Henry? and Does Annie Henry Have Big Plans For The White House? I ignored them mostly. In Raleigh nobody had cared that much. I agreed to transfer from UNC to Georgetown so that my security could be easier to manage. At 19, I left my friends behind and moved to Washington. I didn't know anyone, so I mostly made friends with the staff and other people who moved through our house.

You and I had first met the summer after the election. You were a thorn in my dad's side - the loudest voice on the left, constantly pushing him to be more progressive. We'd met at a party function which happened to be on your 30th birthday. We'd hit it off, traded numbers, and become something more than texting buddies. I wasn't out to anyone - my family, my friends, even myself one some days. But I wanted you. I wanted to be with you, to talk to you, to know that you were thinking about me all the time. I didn't know if you felt the same, but I hoped that fall I'd find out.

Hi! This is still a rough idea, but I'm really excited about it! I want to play the President's 19-year-old daughter who's falling for a beautiful, progressive AOC-style Congresswoman who's always at odds with her dad. This relationship isn't too defined, and I want us to work on this together! This will require a lot of planning, so I'm mostly looking for someone who's into that on its own! I love working with references and real specifics, so if you know something about government that would be a huge plus.
