"Full house to your three of a kind. Not your lucky day, is it?" Said the man across the table. We were all sitting around a table in the back room of a restaurant. High stakes gambling in shady places at its finest.
And I was, apparently, a terrible gambler.
I thought I'd try for some quick cash. I didn't think it was so hard. I couldn't be that hard? How hard could poker be?
Now I was broke. Broke and sitting at a high stakes table with all the men laughing at my losses. At my fall from grace. I felt humiliated and enraged and defeated. But then a thought came to me. Just one more hand…
"Double or nothing." I declared, my mouth already dry from fear as I said it.the group died down slowly before the big lug across from me spoke.
"You got nothin left, honey. What could you possibly offer to thr pot." He sneared I swallowed hard.
