Hi! Today I'm looking for a partner for a story, but one that I don't have all the details for yet in my head! Lately I've really wanted to play out a scene where I bring a partner home to meet my parents. I love writing new relationships, and creating a character who's feeling the nerves of hoping that dear old mom and dad like her new lover sounds super exciting! I'm thinking that I want to do this as a Christmas story too, so if you're interested in that it's a big plus!

I'm looking for out characters' relationship to have something about it that's unusual or that I think my parents are not going to like. She'll get all wound up as they're going to the house, which sounds so fun! My ideas so far are:

1) You're also a woman. I'm out to my parents, but I've never brought a girl home before.

2) We're an interracial couple. I'm from one of the less progressive parts of the US. My parents aren't explicitly racist, but they're also not not a little racist.

3) We're both famous in some minor way. Maybe we're both Olympians, met at the games, and you're coming from abroad to visit me for the first time.

4) We're different ages. Maybe you have your own house and kids from your first marriage, but think it's important for us to spend time in my world too.

If you have a different idea let's talk it over! This definitely isn't an exhaustive list. Other than my character's anxiety I want this to be a mostly vanilla story. I like writing anxious women and the lovers who help them calm down, having to keep quiet while I get eaten out in my childhood bed, and cuddling in the dark even though we're supposed to be sleeping in different rooms.
