"No...just no!" Tommy said as he put his guitar on the stand and lit up a cigarette.
"Dude, just give her a chance." Craig replied as he leant against the microphone stand. "The rest of the auditions were kinda lame, what's the worst that could happen?"
Me? I sat quietly behind my drums.
We'd needed a new bass player since Brian had left town. We weren't ever going to be huge, we weren't ever going to be the Foo Fighters, or Led Zepplin, but we were a decent little outfit. A regular spot at a few local clubs and bars. But without a bass player, we were struggling.
Advertising hadn't gone the way we wanted and now we were down to the last audition of the day.
You.
But Tommy had issues. Said girls in bands ruined it, there'd always be one of us trying to date you, and when that went to shit, we'd be looking for another bass player. We didn't have time for that bullshit though. It was Wednesday, and we had a gig Friday.
That's when the door opened.
Black converse, light blue skinny jeans and a hoodie walked through the door clutching a bass guitar.
I, was hooked. I'd always had a thing for girls who could play, and being a drummer it meant you and me would be the lynch pin of this band.
"So, what we playing?" You asked.
