No one within a handful of generations remembers the Home Planet called Earth, what remained of it according to the holo-archives and stories passed down. Of course there are holdover practices from our terrestrial-bound past aboard our new home, the Daedalus, such as day and night marked by dimmed lights with a moonlight hue. But for the most part, humans have had to make several modifications to our daily and generational lives.

In another instance, on our journey to a new world to restart the human race, thought has to be given to our reproductive and genetic forethought. Sure, traditional love and marriage still occurs, but a very substantial incentive is given to couples who match genetically to give offspring an advantage for future colonization.

In a starship of 10,000 people, there can be harmonious coupling of genetically augmented matches, who will breed optimal offspring. Still others.... Have to work at cooperation. You and I are the latter.

HI, my name is Jon. I am 6' tall, athletic build, brown hair, blue eyes. My first choice was matched without me knowing she was even registered, leaving me bitter and alone at an advanced age of 35.
