Iād moved to LA from the UK sharing the same dream as many. Making it big. Iād done a little amateur acting in college, and maybe a few bit parts in TV, but nothing major. Unfortunately, I didnāt make it past bartending trying to get noticed by agents and the like. Fortunately though, a guy named Greg saw me working a cocktail bar one night and suddenly acting took a backseat.
See, I enjoyed the bartending gig. Meeting new people, working in a lively atmosphere, and the cocktail making, that just played to my charismatic showmanship.
Gregās bar was different. While I was still a cocktail waiter in a regular LA bar, the clientele was a little different. The Watering Hole had two doormen on all night and only A-list celebrities were allowed inside. The whoās who of Hollywood drank here. And they loved it. Why, I hear you ask? Iāll tell you!
Paparazzi werenāt allowed in. Windows were all one-way reflective glass. So here, celebs could let their hair down and act like regular people without the fear of ending up all over tabloid papers or the feature on some Buzzfeed article. Admittedly, the first few shifts I was star-struck. In complete awe. But after a while of chatting sports, cracking jokes and talking about whatever came up with them all. They were no longer celebrities, but my regulars. The only clause was I couldnāt take photos at work or talk about any celebrity gossip. As if I would ā I loved working here.
There was only one celebrity I hadnāt met yet. One Iād crushed on for years and if I did meet her, despite being surrounded by A-listers all day, Iād probably still be star struck. Rumor had it, they were back in town tonight and I prayed theyād come walking in for a drink.
So, bit of a celebrity prompt! Basically, youād play the one celeb that would still leave me star struck. Of course, Iād do my job as normal, but the way I see it going is thereād be a bit of flirting over a few shifts maybe, until I strike up the courage to ask you out? From there, leading into a secret relationship with your new favourite bartender.
Obviously, Iāve got my favourite celebrities, but Iām not going to be all āYouāll be her!ā cause you might have other ideas, basically, Iām wanting to know who youād want to be in this situation!
