The Côte de Bretagne a 107-carat, red gemstone carved into the shape of a dragon. It is the oldest remaining piece of the French Crown Jewels. Given its historical value and the gem in itself, its value is immeasurable. It is usually hidden in the vaults to prevent theft, but tonight is a different night. The French Government now wishes to sell them to a private collector for whatever reason. To do this, they’ve decided to hold a big party alongside an auction. A perfect time to sneak in and steal it!

I am Thomas Voleur, Gentleman Thief. I am 5 foot 11 inches tall or 180 cm. I am wearing a long, black, knee-length jacket, black pants, black shoes, red button-up shirt, a black tie, and of course black gloves to prevent my fingerprints from being detected. It was a little difficult to get in, I had to climb into the building through an open window near the roof, but I managed to get down to the location where the Côte de Bretagne is being stored. There were surprisingly few guards there, but that wouldn’t stop me! As soon as I saw the priceless jewel, I saw someone else…

I have recently discovered the name of a trope I was always mildly fascinated with and since then I have kind of been obsessed with it. I like the idea of playing a suave, intelligent, playboy who steals the world’s greatest treasures. My age could vary to your liking.

You could play whomever you like, maybe you’re a guest at the party? Maybe you’re a detective who’s finally caught up with me? Or perhaps you’re another thief who’s after the same thing? How about knowledge of each other? Do we know each other, or is this the first time we meet? We could even be lovers who see each other on and off again.

I was thinking that you and I could maybe eventually fall smitten for each other, if not already, and run off someplace for a little fun. Maybe this could even be a different heist all together that we team up, plan, follow through, and have a private party together.

The setting could be a semi-historical 19th century Paris, a Steampunk alternative history with fancy gadgets, a more traditional setting for this kind of trope. Or we could have a modern setting, or even a cyberpunk with cool futuristic cybernetics.
