Kate invited me to spend the holidays with her family. It'll be the first time meeting them so I'm a little nervous but I have been reassured several times that they aren't anything to be worried about.

I pack up everything I need for a week away from my dorm room, clothes, laptop, and... that's it. College life: live light, pack light.

I head to the dorm pickup zone and meet Kate there. We stand there waiting for a while, chatting away about random stuff and finally her parent's van pulls up. It's 7pm now that they're here so it's already pitch black and we were starting to get cold.

Kate takes shotgun, eager to chat with her mom and I open up the sliding van door to get into the back seat.

"Hello Mrs. Hall, it's nice to finally meet you. Over heard nothing but good things about you and your Christmas cooking!" I say as if I rehearsed it, which I did in the mirror all day.

"Oh you're very welcome Andrew, get back there and take a seat. You're going to want to get comfy, it's a long drive back to our place." Mrs. Hall replies back sweetly.

The family dog Oliver has taken the front row so I guess I'm going back one more row.

That's when I noticed you.

The sister that Kate barely talks about, you don't seem to dislike eachother but you just haven't talked about her much. I'm surprised because I didn't expect to see you there and I didn't expect you to be so hot.

I sit beside you and you and buckle up. There isn't that much space back here when I put my bag back here so as I sit next to you I can feel my leg pressed gently against yours.

A few seconds later after I buckled up the van starts to move and Christmas music starts to play quietly on the radio you reach out your left hand to introduce yourself and put your right hand on my thigh...
