All small towns have their secrets; this one isn't any different... okay, maybe it is a bit different... You see, there is a town that isn't marked on any maps, hidden deep in the bible belt of the United States. It looks like any other town of its size of no more than two thousand. The town is very traditional on the outside; women and girls dressed in modest clothes that covered more skin that necessary and stay at home to take care of the house, men wear their shirts tucked in properly and have short haircuts. Most modern technology is useless here due to no easily available internet access, though there is electricity, thankfully, so the town isn't completely in the dark ages. Think if a town was brought from the 1960s straight to modern time, still only keeping that level of technology, and I think you can get the idea.

Oh, right, that secret I mentioned, I should probably talk about that now. The town church building is the biggest building in the entire town; most people in the town go to church at least twice a week. Hidden from view of the common folk is what happens under the church every year around Halloween time...

Every year thirteen (or fewer if that's too many to keep track of) girls are chosen to become part of a higher purpose for the church, which the town considers a high honor, but what not many know is that this purpose is far from a godly one. The qualifications that the girls have to meet are they must be between ages 18-25 and virgins. Those girls that meet the requirements have their names put in a raffle and are chosen at random...

I want to discuss what exactly happens to these girls. I have ideas but I want to leave it up for interpretation. As stated in the title, this will be a dark prompt so I'm open to almost anything. I think the idea of sacrificing virgins to a dark deity is heavily implied, so I want to keep that kind of theme, but any kinds of details or anything else can be figured out when you send me a message.
