"Attention. Attention. All crew abandon ship. Repeat. All crew abandon ship," the excessively calm voice of the A.I. droned as klaxons hooted and red lights flashed.
You raced along the corridor to the nearest escape pod. Running lights along the floor gave all the indication you needed to find the nearest one. The CSS Portage rumbled, indicating another explosion somewhere on the ship. If it was the reactors you would not have felt it, you would have been vaporized almost immediately. You stumbled into a waiting pod and sealed the hatch. As soon as you are buckled in the capsule blasted away from the ship.
That's the last thing you remember.
You wake up sometime later, your head is pounding. "Easy there, easy," a voice tells you. You open your eyes and your vision blurs, but eventually resolves on the man leaning over you. "The scanner says you got a bump on your head and you're dehydrated. Stay still." The sound of a dermal regenerator buzzes and your feel the cool, pins-and-needles feeling of your forehead's skin healing.
When you can finally sit up you see man in the same uniform as you, but looking a bit rough around the edges. He passes you a bottle of water, which you desperately drink from. He isn't immediately familiar to you, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. "Welcome to wherever we are," he says with a crooked grin.
As a forward scouting and survey ship for a colonizing mission the Portage had a great deal of supplies on board. Salvage should help survival. However, the ship didn't crash on the intended planet. The survivors who made it to this place may be on their own for a long, long time.

First, I wrote the above quickly, so forgive any roughness, and I'm flexible on first or third person.
Lately I've been thinking about stories about people getting stranded somewhere on their own. I decided to take this beyond the normal desert island and leave a small group of humans trapped on an alien world. I would like the world to be lush with life, think Pandora from Avatar, but nothing sentient, just plants, fungi and animals.
The ones who managed to survive from the ship have to scavenge and build shelter and survive off of the natural environment once they run out of rations and supplies. This gives a lot of change for exploration, struggle, and adventure. For a twist I would like the environment to have some effects on human biology. Perhaps the pheromones released by plants in the area are impacting our brain chemistry, defeating our birth control, increasing our arousal, and amplifying our fertility. I am open to other physical transformations, within reason. The professional and sensible survivors do their best to behave normally, but more and more that is becoming difficult, if not impossible. Would pairings quietly form until the secret was out? I am not interested in sex with any of the indigenous life forms. Does the temporary shelter become a permanent colony as the survivors settle in?
I imagine the story would work best as a small group, just to keep things manageable. I quite like the idea of multiple women to one man, but that is not a requirement at all.
Get in touch with ideas you might like to see for this scenario, your own kinks, a little introduction, and so forth. I look forward to hearing from you!
