When you reach out, who own the hands that hold yours?

Every Sunday I sit down with a bunch of D&D nerds and together we roll dice and tell a story. I chat with the people I’ve met on DPP almost every day. In the mod channels we debate, help, and argue about whether cookies should be called cookies or biscuits (it’s cookies). On Facebook I join weird tag groups, in my city I have my circle of writer friends, and in these groups and their many overlaps, they form my community.

Community, to me, means support, fun, and family. It is the people you have chosen to be around and who have chosen to be around you. It includes my biofamily and my chosen family, my friends who are the other pieces of my heart, and my partner who is the other half of my soul.

Today, DPP is celebrating Community; not just the ones formed here, but any community that’s important to you and your life. Just, you know, with DPP’s usual super sexy twists.

So go out there and party with your people, and dance your cares away.
