M4R- The Gambler In The Tavern. [Transformations]

Post Body

Ask everyone 'cross the land, and most will tell you some variation of the tale of the gambler in the tavern; most'll get a detail wrong here or there, just enough to send seekers on a wild chase that'll end in disappointment, death, or delusion. Sometimes, though, an inquisitive traveller might just find the right person to ask, and they'll know if they have.

Look to those who seem different, traveller- women who, despite being lovelier than all but queens and princesses, seem as though they have lived but moon-spans in their bodies, and not since birth. Or men who swagger, who sneer, who glare- and who, when eyes seem to not be upon them, take upon a distinctly more feminine cast. Look to those who possess parts most preposterous; those with tails, or wings, or horn-ed for'eads, where none should be found. Look to those who seem as though they should be cursed with deformities or blessed with physical greatness, and yet seem to feel the opposite.

Look to these and these alone, traveller.

Approach them carefully, if you must approach at all, and broach the subject carefully. If they do not first tell you, ask them once again, and then once more; upon asking them thrice, they are compelled, traveller, to reveal the location of the Gambler.

Travel, then, to the city of Stonehewen, on the banks of the river Klenza; from there, ride or walk or take a carriage to the small town- barely a village- of Crofter's Rest, in the shade of the Taurihn Peaks. From there, traveller, find you The Stranger In The Hills, the only tavern in the town. Unmistakeable it is, traveller, with the blue, blue door and the roof the colour of summer sunlight and harvest corn.

Walk, then, inside.

Find, in the corner, the lone man, the smiling man, the man with a tunic as green as seawater, and a cloak as blue as night in spring. Find that man, with his silvered tongue and his honeyed words; with his mellifluous voice, and his dizzying words. Find that man, with a smile that never reaches his eyes, eyes that never seem to be the same colour twice, and hair the same shade as the Darq of D'Elloyn. Find that man, traveller, and challenge him; challenge him to whichever game you feel best at, traveller, for the stakes are high indeed. You will gamble not for wealth, nor property, nor any material possession upon this land, traveller.

You will gamble for your soul. You will gamble for your body. You will gamble for yourself.

And the gambler, dear traveller, is not known to lose.

Obviously transformation and mind alteration are going to be a big thing here; whilst I don't mind doing ftm, I'd much rather do this with someone who'd like to do mtf, or ftf. I don't really have any limits beyond the obvious 'no bodily fluids, no animals, no relatives' stuff, but most of that doesn't necessarily apply to this anyway.

Other than that, I see this as being long-term; possibly you could play multiple travellers who seek the Gambler, or perhaps you could play a group of adventurers who intend to take the Gambler with them on their quest. Or perhaps a lone wanderer, who the Gambler decides to strike out and see the world with.

He is, after very old. Why, almost as old as life itself. Almost.

Also; if this post is up, I'm still looking for someone to do this with.
