"Open your eyes."

The soft voice filled the small chamber as life soon returned to the occupant inside. Surrounded by darkness, he slowly lifted his eye lids and took account of his surrounding.

"Open your eyes. Wake up, Link."

As the lid the chamber opened, Link quietly arose from the waters depths. Naked except for a pair of shorts that covered him, he began to stroll the small room that housed his small holding chamber. The walls were ornate with carvings he could not recall seeing before. Making his way towards the door, he came upon a well worn pair of trousers, tattered shirt, and a powerful slate. Upon his exit he was greeted with the majesty and openness of Hyrule. Off in the distance, however, he saw the destruction of a grand castle and the ruins of a bustling town.

'What the fuck did I do last night?' The thought ran through his head as he staggered towards the ruins of a temple. Stealing an apple from an old man by a fire and not answering any of his questions, he kept pondering what could have destroyed a city like Castle Town.

"Link...you must save Hyrule" the voice returned as he groggily studied the large cathedral like temple. "Go and speak to the old ma..."

'Yeah, yeah. Sure thing weird voice lady' he thought to himself as he continued to adjust to the his return to the world 'Just give me a minute...'

"There is no time, Link"

'Wait, did you just listen to my thoughts?' He mused to himself before climbing down towards a near by water way.

"You are my sworn knight and I am your Princess, Link." The voice retorted "We've been on this same connection forever. Please, I need you to..."

'Woah, woah woah.' He stopped in his tracks. 'You've been listening to my thoughts for how long? Even my most...personal...of...'

"Yes, Link..." the voice bitterly sighed "Even the ones about my ass. Is that why you always let me walk forward of you during our adventures? Wanted a good shot of your princess in those tight fitting slacks?"

'Well excuuuuuuse me, princess' Link's brow lowered and the near by bokoblin walked away when he saw the anger building in the young hero's face. 'I may be a man of courage, but I am a man'

"More like a pervert"

'What was that?' The Hero shot back as her words quickly passed by him.

"Oh...nothing" she said with a smug tone "Hey, listen....I think we got off on the wrong foot. A lot of time has passed and shit kinda got fucked up. We need to work together to save the Kingdom from Gannon"

'Fine,' he sighed as he made his pushed over the old man and stole his glider. 'Can you find me a place with a decent cup of coffee and some eggs, GPS-Princess Lady? I don't know what happened last night but I'm kinda hungover and need to fix things..."

"Last night?" the voice chimed in "You mean 100 years ago.,,"

'100 years ago?' Link wanted to scream 'Son of a...'

Sadly, I couldn't come up with a good play on title for 'Breath of the Wild'. I wanted to go with a back and forth with out "silent" hero and the Princess he has sworn to protect.
