We were slowly being forgotten.

Over the many years after our rise to power, the clouds of Mount Olympus lacked the once vibrant colour they held. Gods slowly began to fade away, after the mortals tore their temples to the ground, and desecrated the once sacred land by growing cities in their place.

My father struggled, weakening, while the mortal’s prayers slowly began to cease.

I had to do something, anything, the life was being drained out of us one by one, and soon we would all meet a fate worse than death in the Underworld.

Hades had been plotting our downfall for years. While the mortals grew and changed over time, he had started whispering, telling them not pray to the gods for harvest, new life, or to be safe upon their hunts.

It was he who had the temples defiled, and while we waited, holding onto our faith in humanity, we slowly learned this was the wrong course of action.

Hades wanted the throne, and soon he would strike at us. We had grown too weak to defend ourselves from him, while his power had grown in spades over the course of the years.

My feet carried me towards my father, throwing open the throne room door and standing before him and Hera.

“We must do something! Apollo grows weaker with every moment that passes.” My father's eyes turned towards me, anger fuelled him as he stood. I held fast, hoping another fight would not break loose between us.

“Artemis, Gods do not step foot off Mount Olympus. What you are proposing, I cannot even bring myself to discuss.” Anger surged through me at his words as I stepped closer.

“We have no choice left, Father please, Hades will strike us soon, and without the mortals worship we are weak.”

“You cannot kill a god Artemis.”

“I will not listen to your words while my brother lies dying, I am leaving Mount Olympus. Ares is down on Earth, fighting a war, and I’m going with him. Together we will restore the mortals faith in us”

“I forbid you from going!”

“You don’t get a choice.”

Light engulfed the room, and the Heavens shook. I found myself standing above a cliff face, looking down at an army that had amassed. When I closed my eyes and tuned in to the prayers of the people gathered, I heard a lone voice… Artemis. Ares. Help us. I breathed a sigh of relief. If there was only one, we could renew the faith. It was time for the Gods to step out of the Heavens and back into life.

I looked down at the bow in my hand, feeling the comfort of my quiver at my back. A breeze picked up around me, blowing my long brown hair out from my body while I looked for my brother. And then I saw you.

What I’m looking for in this role play: A long-term world building, slow burn, role play. My character is Artemis, goddess of the hunt, who has joined her brother Ares, God of War for a war. They will help turn the tide against the army’s enemy and renew the mortal faith in the Gods.

Who are you? You might be one of the heroes from the army, or a priest from the temple, or someone else. Feel free to come up with some ideas, but mostly you will be most helpful in fighting this war, and you will help Artemis to restore faith in the gods.
