The Herald was the first to speak.

At the foot of the dais, from all fours, forehead to floor, a willowy voice quavered, “The Mighty Ra, the Reborn One, Walker of all Worlds, Dominion of All That Is Or Will Be, has heard the case and finds you guilty.”

A flutter of chatter, the whispers of gods and ghosts, spread through the audience chamber. Only Anubis, standing proudly, remained silent.

“Kneel.” Spoke the voice inside of the sun. None could face the light directly. When they closed their eyes they saw a golden Hawk atop the body of a man but none could truly look upon Ra.

Yet, Anubis did not kneel. He would not be cowed, so great was his rage. Instead, the butt of his staff thumped on the great stone marble beneath his feet and emit a clap of thunder that drew terrified shouts from the courtiers that surrounded them. “I will not.” The god of the underworld replied, his Jackals head turned downward but his voice as measured and steeled as the one that addressed him.

What crime did he commit? What was the life of one mortal to the Pantheon of the Gods?

“They are your playthings as well as mine. How I take my pleasures or what form I take to gain them is not of your concern. The Priest was weak and insignificant. That much was clear by how easily he was led astray by a pretty face and a firm backside."

The defiance hung tangibly in the air for a moment that lasted lifetimes until...

”So be it” The brightness declared, and a silhouette of red stained the yellow as He rose from his chair. ”You have cheated the Scale that I have entrusted you with. You have corrupted my true priest with form and flesh. Thus, for this day and all days, you shall wear that form and wander lost, never to return to the land of your birth. So Spake Ra.”

A chorus of hushed voices immediately repeated the words behind him, “So Spake Ra.”

Anubis turned his head upward to face his judgement, turned his spear forward and rushed. Even in blindness, he remembered the spot where the Sun God’s heart was… He made his thrust…

And fell. Fell through darkness and eternity, through time and space, through memory itself.

When She awoke, she knew nothing. Not her name, not this place, not these clothes. It was as if she’d just been born…

“What…am I?”

My idea here was that after the transformation, Ra cast him/her forward in time to a random geography. I would love to play this in a futuristic setting but a modern one that is eye catching enough could be fun as well. I prefer third over first person and medium-to-long replies (3-5 paragraphs or so). Last thing - it is tagged "4A" because a great concept is a great concept regardless of gender but my preference would be a woman opposite Anubis.
