I will never fall in love with you.
I will never make this more than it is.
I will never force my feelings on you, even if- *if*- I catch them
I will accept this as the casual thing it is.
Such simple lies. Such little lies. Of course, at the time, they'd been the truth...
It had been the perfect arrangement; we'd agreed - or at least, you'd proclaimed, and I'd been too sex-blind to disagree- that what we had was just a casual thing. Every Thursday night, you'd come to mine, or I'd come to yours, we'd cook dinner or get takeout, watch Netflix, and fuck. Sometimes we mixed it up a little; Chinese instead of pizza, a movie instead of a couple of episodes of something, anal instead of...well, but mostly, mostly we stuck to the same thing.
Somewhere along the line, we'd mutated from that, and become more of a regular thing- from once a week to two, three times a week, sometimes at weekends. We'd started going out for dinner, or hanging out for a whole day. We'd started doing couply things, making in-jokes, calling songs 'our song', or bars 'our bar'. We'd done everything, essentially, short of becoming fucking official.
And yet, and yet you'd told me you didn't want anything serious; you weren't looking to be locked into a relationship. So why was it we'd started texting more than ever? Why was it I was the person you said good night to, and good morning to? Why was it that when you looked at me, there was a look in your eye like maybe there was some kind of feelings going on.
And yet, despite all this, when I told you I loved you- because I did- you called me an asshole and sent me packing. You screamed at me, in fact, through tears and snot, that you'd told me, you'd told me, you'd fucking told me that you didn't want a relationship, and I was trying to trick you into one. I'd told you I wasn't trying to trick you, but you weren't listening to me, not even slightly.
You threw me out, and haven't called or texted since, and I don't know what to do. I missed you. Miss you.
Alright. I don't have any idea whatsoever of where to take this, other than I'd like some kind of romance-y emotional-type thing going on. Probably mostly vanilla, but I'm very open to other ideas, if anyone's got them; same limits as usual, including no blood, gore, mutilation, etc.
I have a few ideas for this:
* We start it off at the beginning. When they meet, or when they start the arrangement.
* We start it off when things start to change. When they get closer.
* We start it off with the argument.
* We start it off where the prompt ends, with them having spent some time apart.
* We start it off at some other point of your choosing.
As usual, if this is up, I'm still looking.
