My dearest K,

I don't know exactly when it happened but at some point early in our relationship I fell madly in love with you. Luckily for me, you feel the same way. We are the definition of "soul mates". You understand me. You get me. You know me better than anyone else in the world, sometimes even better than I know myself.

Someday, you won't have to imagine what it feels like to be held in my arms. Someday, I won't have to imagine the taste of your lips or the feeling of your skin beneath my fingers. Someday, you will be able to listen to my heartbeat as we fall asleep together. Someday, I will hold on to you and never let go.

I know this hasn't been easy for either of us. And I don't know when our someday will come, but I believe in my heart that it will. And I know that you are worth the wait. I hope and pray that I am worth the wait too.

Eternally yours,

H

Sorry DPP, but this love letter is not for you. But it does nicely sum up the premise of this [meta].

I didn't meet my soul mate on DPP but I know some people have. Maybe not soul mates necessarily, but sometimes DPP interactions develop into relationships. Because of the nature of the sub those relationships are often long-distance. So the question is, how do you do it?

Long-distance relationships, in general, are more difficult to keep going. Maybe you have success stories for others. Maybe you have some tips or tricks that worked for you. Do you send love letters? Or maybe they are love texts? What helps you span that distance and keep yourself sane?

Let's talk about DPP relationships that became something more.
