a flash of light. a high pitched squeal. unspeakable pain. consciousness cut off abruptly

a ceiling. but should it be moving like that? faster. faster. punctuated by bursts of light.

He awoke with a start. It was as if every muscle in his body tried to contract at once, preparing for a collision which had already happened. His breathing and heart rate spiked, his brain trying to process the visual clues it was being bombarded with. He recognized that this was a hospital room, and had an overwhelming sense that this was not where he was... before. The only problem was he couldn't justify that feeling because in all honesty he had no recollection of ever being anywhere else. Trying to sit up he felt a tug at his nose and ears. Reaching a hand up he felt the plastic tube draped over his ear. Following it to the nasal cannula he pulled it out and yanked it over his head. The dryness in his nose and throat were a minor annoyance compared to the dull ache in his temples. A careful inspection with his fingertips revealed bandages encircling his head. He winced at the tenderness when he reached his forehead. Sitting up only caused the ache to intensify. He wore a hospital gown. Wires attached a monitor to his chest. Another tug drew his attention to his left hand where an IV was attached. More intriguing, and confusing, to him though was the gold band around his ring finger.
Turning his gaze to his surroundings he focused on a hospital whiteboard. It cheerfully announced in blue marker that his doctor was "Dr. Mark" and his nurse was "Sara". He was in room number "440" and his expected date of release was "?". There was one thing about the board that caused a slow panic to start building within him. Next to the space marked "Patient Name" there was nothing. It was blank.
At that moment when he started hyperventilating the door opened and Nurse Sara stepped in. She froze in shock seeing him awake. "Call Dr. Mark, he's a awake!" She shouted down the hall before rushing into the room. Something was wrong; he began clawing at the tubes and wires attached to his body. He looked just as shocked as she was. Sara reached for the IV to stop him from pulling it out. The patient grabbed her arm, squeezing tighter than necessary, a look of panic in his eyes.
"Who am I?!"
Hello? I guess I've posted here before, but I don't remember. It says my name is Blane. I don't know, that just seems made up. I have no idea what I like. It says this is Vanilla Sunday, so I guess we should stick with that?
I think now you write something? I'm not sure...
