In the heat of a Louisiana night, what’s to say a little folk magic couldn’t happen? Snip a lock of a lover’s hair if you want their heart. Find a candle, carve their name in, wrap the hair around it and let it burn. It’s all superstition, right? Something like that would never work.

Or maybe you don’t have a lover and want one. You could put together a little bag with your wish on a piece of paper, a lucky die, and a few herbs and stones meant to make you more charming. It doesn’t need to be big, just something to slip in your back pocket and then maybe someone special will notice you...
