"What a load of shit..." I thought to myself. I groaned and kicked some sand out of my way, my head bent down and looking at the ground. I sighed and kept walking, the waves lapping onto the shore. The sea gulls cried as they circled above and the kids laughed as they ran around. Eventually they faded away as I got to a more secluded area of the beach and sat down. "I must be the biggest idiot in the world..." I thought.

I thought it was going to be a fun weekend. Me and a few friends, the group of us hanging out at the shore for a week. Barbecuing, drinking, playing games. The usual stuff. Everyone has fun, right? Well, what it turned into was me being the third wheel. Friends dropped out and someone got the idea to invite their girlfriends and boyfriends. In the end, it was me and two couples who ended up together the whole week. Sure, they tried to include me, and I didn't begrudge them for wanting to spend time together, but I was still somewhat angry with how it turned out. It had been so long since I dated that it made me jealous and I just needed some time away from them.

So it was with this in mind that I left the two pairs to go for a walk. I let out some frustration at the situation on the harmless sand and eventually sat down. I looked down, my head between my kneels, breathing deeply and thinking about it. As I looked up at the ocean, I breathed deeply and decided I should just try and have a good time with the four of them. That is, until I hear.... "Hey there...what are you doing here all alone?"

So I finally got my creative juices flowing. I left this a little open to interpretation, and because I originally made this for Valentine's Day yesterday, I'm definitely open to making this sappy and romantic, but it doesn't have to be, necessarily.
